Marking a Screen Print Job as Started

Background

When a print run is about to commence on the factory floor, several things happen:-

This topic will instruct you how to update strokeone to mark that the above activities has occurred. Namely: update the picked stock location; mark the print screen process as in progress; mark that the screen-set is employed on the print machine.


Prerequisites

Ensure that you have opened the Screen-Print layout for the machine which is undertaking the print.

Procedure

  1. With the screen print layout, locate the record for the print screen process line that you are interested in.
  2. Update the location of blank garments to denote that they have been collected from the ready for process area and are now placed with the print machine, by following these steps:-.
    1. For the record identified in step 1) locate and click the Picked Stock Location button.

    2. In the resultant pop up window, click the Move button.

    3. This invokes the location picker dialog, where you need to record the machine name of where you are placing the blank stock.
      Click the drop-down on the end header filter field and select Processing
      In the location records that are then displayed. click the Select button besides the machine name where you have placed the picked items

    4. The Picked Stock Location in the pop-up updates to the machine value you selected in step 2c)

    5. Click off the pop up window, to return to the main layout.
      Note, that the Printed Stock Location has updated to the Machine name

Next, record that the print process has started.

  1. Click the Start button for the record identified in step 1)
  2. A series of validations are performed to ensure that all preceding processes have been completed. See Note 1 below.
  3. Assuming validations are passed, the following updates occur:-
    1. The Production status icon updates to Amber (in Progress)
    2. The Screenset Location field updates to Out to Print.
    3. The available capacity total for the location specified when the screen-set was recorded as Out to Print, is credited back with the number of screens in the screen-set.
      (In real terms, the physical spaces that the screen-set was occupying in the storage area are now available again)
    4. The Current Machine field on the screen-set record is updated with the name of the machine that is undertaking the process.
    5. The Start button is disabled.
    6. Conversely, the Pause and Finish buttons are now enabled.

The following is validated when you start the process lines

Note: If there are future scheduled jobs which use the same set of screens as the one currently employed on the in progress job, then the Screens status icon is updated to Navy Blue to denote that it is in usage on other jobs currently.
