Flagging a Stencil Set for Reclaim

Background

A screen-set can be flagged as eligible to be reclaimed.

Typically this is done to indicate that a screen-set is unlikely to be required again on any future print-runs, and as such should be drawn down and its member screens reclaimed (recycled).

About this task

This topic will instruct you how to navigate to, and update screen-set records in the Stencils Required layout to flag them for reclaim..

Note:

  1. this topic does not instruct in how you physically reclaim a stencil set - that is a process external to strokeone
  2. You can also flag a screen-set for reclaim in other locations in strokeone

Prerequisites

Ensure that:you have opened the Stencils Required layout within strokeone.

Procedure

  1. Locate the screen-set record(s) that you wish to flag as reclaim.
Tip: as there should be no open production jobs that require the screen-set you may want to use the following criteria in a Find query :-.

Status: Full or part set filed See .Screen and Screen-Set Record Statuses for more information on these statuses.
    Production: Completed

TBC: would be nice to select last washed date  or any other useful criteria to add here

  2. To update a screen-set record identified in step 1) as eligible for reclaiming, click on the Flag for Reclaim status icon to toggle it from Red (not flagged)

    to Green (Completed, i.e. flagged)

  3. When a screen-set record is flagged for reclaim, strokeone performs the following accounting calculations in the background :-
    1. It determines the number of individual screens in the screen-set record.
    2. It groups the individual screen records from 3a) by unique SKU (screen type)
    3. It counts the number of records in each grouped SKU from 3b)
    4. For each of the SKU's identified in 3b), it increments the corresponding flagged for reclaim totals in the Screens Control List by the count value from step 3c)
  4. Repeat step 2) if you wish to record multiple screen-sets as flagged for reclaim.

Note: It is important to understand that the screen-set has not yet been reclaimed at this point. It has been flagged for reclaim, not reclaimed. Reclaiming is a separate process, with differing accounting entries.
